"Living in Limbo?"

"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." Jeremiah 29:11

Ever find yourself waking up and life just doesn't seem as fulfilled and purposeful as you wished? I think we all do, believe it or not I believe even Joel Osteen and motivational coaches have found themselves wondering, "why am I even here?" I know that I get in these moods where I've worked for hours and at the end of the week wondered, "is this really all I was created for?" It's depressing when you find yourself in what I've heard people call limbo, not knowing what moves you are supposed to be making, especially when it comes to important decisions.

I've found that scripture is truly the answer to all our questions dealing with life. And nothing is more clearer than scripture dealing with that "living in limbo" feeling. The scripture I present to you was written by the prophet Jeremiah, but if you notice the Creator of the universe, God himself, is the one addressing us. How exciting is that! God is speaking directly to us and in the process encouraging us that he has everything under control.

Sure you've found yourself in limbo, but honestly you don't have to be there, in fact give that situation you have that's causing you issues to God and he will direct your paths. Maybe your situation goes farther than uncertainty, in fact it's out right choas, and your fried to the point that hanging on seems like it's not even a choice anymore. Well my friend I want to encourage you to give your situation to God and then hang on and let him direct your ride. Life is short, stress makes it even shorter, and a life without God leads to an eternity far worse than anything you've delt with here on Earth. But God has a plan for you, God has thoughts towards you, God has a directed course that he wants you on and guess what! It's an expected end that has no evil thoughts towards you, but He wants peace for you.

Nothing rings more true than what happen on calvary. God manifested himself in flesh to die for your sins so that sin would no longer have a hold on you and now you can be a champion, an overcomer, someone who is winning at life, who is not controlled by addictions, but also who's name will be written in God's Book at the end of times declaring that you are the winner over the devil.

Don't listen to Satan when he declares to you that you are alone and the road before you is scary, that it's possible you might fail, and find yourself headed down hill. All he is doing is prophecying his own future to you. God is not thinking peaceful thoughts towards the enemy, but he is thinking peaceful thoughts towards you. That's why it's important to find yourself in a Bible believing church so that you can encourage one another in the fact that Jesus is coming soon for his church (that would be you!).

So if you find yourself in limbo or choas just remember that God wants to direct your steps, so give your life to him and pray that he will take the wheel, and by the way when you hand over the wheel, don't try to grab it back, just sit back and enjoy the ride... Oh and bring a friend along with you!

Thanks for reading,
Hank

  1. One of my favorite verses. It's always good to be reminded that His plans are far greater than our own. Loved reading this post!
